Reader’s mail……..

CANTATE (Portsmouth Cathedral’s youth choir), was formed in 2006 offering girls and teenage boys the opportunity to sing as part of the Cathedral’s daily music.

CANTATE sings Evensong each Thursday in the Cathedral during term time, in addition to many events in various concert venues.

We are delighted to announce that as part of CANTATE’s forthcoming trip to Cyprus they will be coming to St. Andrew’s, Kyrenia on Tuesday, 24th October 2017.

This trip to Cyprus is the choir’s fifth international tour following successful trips to France, Austria, The Alps, Malta and Italy.

Dr David Price, Organist and Master of the Choristers at Portsmouth, who will be on tour with the choir in St Andrew’s says, “We are delighted to be singing in Cyprus and thank our friends and hosts for all they have done to help us on our way.”

CANTATE will sing Evensong at 4.30 p.m. followed by a Concert at 7.30 p.m.

All are welcome to St. Andrew’s to enjoy both of these musical delights.

If you haven’t heard a traditional Anglican Evensong sung by an outstanding choir such as CANTATE then you are in for a treat not to be missed!

Set of three bespoke solid oak choir stalls

At the Evensong Service at 4.30 p.m. a set of three bespoke solid oak choir stalls, presently under construction by local craftsman Mark Jehan and which have been commissioned by a generous benefactor, will be dedicated.
