Stating that Turkey has put forth its stance towards finding a solution to the Cyprus problem, Turkish Minister of National Defence Fikri Işık stressed that Turkey will continue in its own way, and will not make any concessions over the Turkish Cypriot people’s national interests in Cyprus.

In a speech made at the General Council of the Turkish Grand National Assembly, Işık said “Turkey has proven  right once more in the presence of all countries that attended the negotiations and the UN Security Council. The negotiations have ended. Turkey will continue along its own path by not making any concessions over the Turkish Cypriot people’s national interests. This is the policy of our government and state”. (TRT News)

Yıldırım to visit the TRNC for 20 July celebrations

Turkish Prime Minister Binali Yıldırım will arrive at the TRNC to participate in the 20th July Peace and Freedom Day celebrations. Prime Minister Yıldırım is attending as a guest of Prime Minister Hüseyin Özgürgün.

Çavuşoğlu to pay official visit to the TRNC today

Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu to pay a one-day official visit to the TRNC today. Çavuşoğlu will meet with President Mustafa Akıncı at 18:00 today.

After the meeting, Çavuşoğlu and his accompanying delegation will have a working dinner at the TRNC Presidency.

Turkish Cypriot negotiator Özdil Nami to hold meetings in New York

Turkish Cypriot negotiator Özdil Nami has travelled to the USA to hold meetings in New York.

Nami has been assigned the duty, by President Mustafa Akıncı, of briefing the representatives of various countries at the UN about the developments that took place in Crans-Montana.

The Cyprus Conference which was organised in Crans-Montana in order to find a solution to the Cyprus problem, came to an end after 9 days of work by the UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres, who declared the conference to be unsuccessful.

43rd Anniversary of 20th of July Peace Operation to be celebrated

The 43rd Anniversary of 20th of July Peace Operation will be celebrated with ceremonies and activities to be organised in cities across the TRNC.

The celebrations will be organised mainly in the capital city, Lefkosa and in the districts of Gazimagusa, Girne, Güzelyurt, and İskele for the 20th of July Peace and Freedom Day.
