Introduction by Margaret Sheard ……

Most people suffer from some sort of allergy or another or are prone to being bitten by those pesky insects throughout the year.   There are all types of remedies and precautions which can be taken but maybe getting back to nature is the answer and using age old remedies.

Recently Chris and I have discovered medicinal mushrooms which have been used in China and Japan for centuries and help the immune system in our bodies to become stronger and more efficient.   Prescribed medication will perhaps cure a problem but it is getting down to the reason the problem occurred in the first place which is important.

Kathryn Orange MSc, LCPH, IAHT, IANLPC is a  licensed Naturopathic Practitioner with over 20 years experience and she has issued a newsletter giving sensible precautionary tips for allergies, insect bites etc. and are shown in the newsletter which can be seen by  clicking here

Treating Allergies with Homeopathy

Allergies seem to be on the increase but did you know that only 5% of the population have a ‘true’ allergy, the rest are simply showing a ‘sensitivity’ to a substance they have been exposed too much to.

Most allergies occur in children who, more often than not, grow out of them as their immune system gets stronger. But a few, such as hay fever, remain into adulthood.  See full newsletter by clicking here

Medicinal Mushrooms

The Chinese have been using mushrooms medicinally for centuries but more recently interest has also grown in the West as the immunological and anti-cancer benefits of mushrooms has been explored.

With over 270 mushrooms that are known to have medicinal qualities, they can help in so many ways to keep us at our optimal level of health: with antioxidants, anti-hypertensive and cholesterol-lowering properties, liver protection, as well as anti-inflammatory, anti-diabetic, anti-viral and anti-microbial properties, these fungi should become a significant part of our health regime.
