Berova: “The TRNC has overcome embargoes to become an education island ”

Minister of National Education and Culture Özdemir Berova stated that the TRNC has become an education island where international students from 140 different countries are studying, as a result of the successful steps taken to foster and encourage the field of higher education in this country.

Minister Berova stated that embargoes imposed on the TRNC have been overcome with the support of Turkey, and added that many students who graduated from the TRNC universities have gone on to achieve notable success in their respective fields in their home countries.

In his speech at “EURIE 2017 Eurasia Higher Education Summit” in İstanbul, Berova stated that 93,000 students are studying at the TRNC’s 15 universities, 40,000 students received education in 2009, and that 12,000 TRNC citizens, 54,000 Turkish citizens and 27,000 citizens from other countries around the world are studying at universities in the TRNC in 2017.

Turkish Cypriot Culture will be promoted at Ankara Tourism Fair

TRNC Culture Department will promote Turkish Cypriot Culture at the Travel Expo Ankara Tourism Fair. Turkish Cypriot Ceramic Art will also be introduced at the fair which will start today at the ATO Congresium Fair and Congress Centre and end on March 26, 2017.

The Culture Department’s Folk Dances and Folk Music Researcher and Trainer Fatma Giritli will also give information about Turkish Cypriot Culture.
