North Cyprus Events Calendar from 20th January 2017

A list of events you can look forward to in North Cyprus. For those charity fund-raisers, venues etc. which would like to include an event in the Events Calendar, contact www.cyprusscene.com The Events Calendar is published every week on Thursday so please try to submit information to be included by Wednesday pm each week.

Lambousa Auction is now held every week on Saturday at 12noon with viewing on Fridays between 10am and 3pm and on the morning of the auction. To see some of the items have a look at the Facebook page by clicking here

RBL Kyrenia Branch – Are you a keen cyclist or have not cycled for a while but have been meaning to get back on your bike? No matter what your standard or experience of riding you may be interested in joining the ‘Poppy Riders’ who meet every Sunday morning for an hour or two’s social cycling? 20^th January – Friday	Blakes Lounge Bar, Alsancak – 70s/80s Soul/Disco Party Night starting at 7.30pm … normal menu will be available as well as a special of the night which will be chilli with dark chocolate served with rice and garlic bread… or just go along for a drink and enjoy the evening.
21^st January – Saturday	Football – Re-arranged match (away) Esentepe v Serdali at Turuncu Hasan Bardakko Stadium … Kick off 2.30pm.
22^nd January – Sunday	The new Rotary Club of Kyrenia Cosmopolitan will be holding an auction at Jessic’s Bar & Restaurant, Karsiyaka from 1pm … Raffle and entertainment, BBQ 30TL with 5TL from each meal donated to the charity … If you have any items you would like to donate for the auction please telephone 0533 869 9745.
24^th January – Tuesday	There will be a book-signing event at the Pia Bella hotel at 5pm …. The book is “A Country with Abandoned History” which is free and is part of a project by Oya Kutsal and others which is in 3 parts including the book which includes the abandoned historical monuments in Northern Cyprus, and a documentary film …. There will be a guest speaker from Turkey, Serif Yenen, who is well known for his lectures on Turkey’s history, culture and tourism …. The presenter of the book and documentary evening is Yonca Kani Oguz.
25^th January – Wednesday	There will be an illustrated talk and luncheon on behalf of the RBL Kyrenia Branch at the Courtyard Inn, Karakum at 12.30pm for 1pm. Adrian Kirtley is the guest speaker on the subject of ‘Events Leading to the Sinking of The Atlantic Conveyor in the Falkland Islands in May 1982.’ Lunch can be selected from the standard pub menu and the cost will include a contribution to the RBL Kyrenia Branch Poppy Appeal.
