Raising money for TULIPS
(Help Those With Cancer)

New Year celebrations started early this year as The Abnormals performed to more than 50 people at The Venue Restaurant in Esentepe on 30th December

Their Christmas Show, a unique mix of comedy and entertainment a great meal and the opportunity to raise money for E.F.R.A.R. in support of Tulips – Help Those With Cancer, made for a fun evening.

In addition to the established Abnormals team of Susie and Martin Ford, Annette McCloskey, Clarisse and Andy Cooper and Alison Bones, there were a number of surprise guest appearances during the evening.

Every time the door bell rang on stage, another star arrived.  The very glamorous Marilyn Munro – Kate Bell – sang beautifully, as did Rod Stewart – Mark Matthews and Nancy Sinatra – Diane Dunne.  More entertainment was provided by the frenetic dancer Mr Fireball – Yavuz.  The Abnormals were hilarious, as always, and involved the audience in all the fun.

At the end of the evening Susie Ford handed over 2,366TL which included the raffle, donations from Alison Bones for the food she cooks each week at the Kuzzy Bar in Esentepe and the contents of a Tulips box which The Abnormals take to every event to collect money.

And there was another surprise in store. Every guest arrived with a wrapped present. Thinking the boxes were empty we were delighted to discover that they were all contained presents for the children at the Ziyamet Special Needs School in the Karpaz.

Mary Watson, Chair of E.F.R.A.R. said “The Abnormals are very special people.  They are so generous and spend the whole year collecting money for E.F.R.A.R. and, latterly, the Ziyamet School.  They make a real difference to cancer patients and children and we are so grateful for their support“.
