Over 50 people packed the Kuzzy Bar in Esentepe on Sunday 9th October to enjoy a fun afternoon and evening of racing, food and entertainment.
The race organisers did a brisk trade during the afternoon as punters queued to back their favourite horse and then shout with joy or despair once the result was known. The last race, the auction race, was particularly popular partly due to the creative names of the horses!
Ali, Lisa and the team kept the glasses topped up and provided an excellent meal with a selection of mezes followed by chicken shish, salad and chips.
Johnny Lee travelled from the other side of the island to ensure that everyone was kept entertained throughout the day with his great selection of music, which gave everyone the opportunity to finish the evening on the dance floor.
Donations from the races, food and a raffle totalled 3,185TL which was presented to E.F.R.A.R at the end of the event. Mary Watson, Chair of E.F.R.A.R., said ‘I am amazed and delighted at the amount of money raised and would like to thank everyone who helped to make it such a success. We are conscious that every lira counts and this will certainly help Tulips to improve the lives of cancer patients’.
