Friendly Match Result : ESENTEPE KKSK 0 MORMENEŞKE 2.
Saturday 17th September 2016. Played at Esentepe Erdal Barut Stadium.
Esentepe’s third friendly match of the season ended in another defeat, previous matches were 0-1 and 0-2 losses. Today’s loss was not entirely unexpected as Mormenekşe are a Supa League (Premier) side and were the better team throughout and looking classy at times. Esentepe didn’t really stretch the opposition too much and you could feel that the Supa League side were very comfortable on the ball and if needed could go up the gears when required.
Once again Esentepe fired blanks again, they even missed a last minute penalty when the Mormeneşke keeper easily saved Eser’s weakly taken penalty.
Mormeneşke took the lead in the 24th minute due to an error by Esentepe’s goalkeeper Tuğrul. He came out to deal with a cross from the right, missed the ball completely with his feet, allowing Ali to place the ball into an empty net.
Esentepe’s best chance of the match came in the 37th minute, when Başak playing “in the hole” put through Emrah. With only the keeper to beat, the striker side footed a poor effort wide, when he should have scored.
In injury time of the first half Mormeneşke increased their lead through Ali again,who was put through and slotted the ball past the advancing Tuğrul.
During the break both sides made numerous changes but Mormeneşke continued to dominate and should have scored a third goal in the 61st minute, following an error by replacement goalkeeper Ali. He came out to collect a free kick, completely fumbled the ball, which fell to opposing player who shot at an open goal. Nersin managed to get back and somehow clear the shot off the line. The goalkeeper made amends later in the game making a couple of fine saves as the visitors looked to increase their lead.
The “second” half Esentepe team in fact played better than their “first half” counterparts and though very inexperienced they tried their best.
3 matches without a goal, Esentepe at the moment are playing a lone striker upfront and he is being fed only scraps and chances are very few and far between. Defender and new signing Firat was the pick of the Esentepe players, he is a tall and powerful player who distributes the ball well and looks to be a useful signing.
