Esentepe KKSK 0 Göçmenköy SK 2.

Esentepe went down to another defeat in their second friendly match against Group West side Göçmenköy who hail from Lefkosa. Unlike last week’s defeat against Düzkaya, Göçmenköy controlled the majority of the match and looked a well organised team.
Once again Esentepe failed to find the net, though at the moment it’s too early to be concerned, scoring goals like last season may continue to be a problem.
In the first half Göçmenkçy looked the better team, but it was Esentepe who came the closest to scoring. After 20 minutes following an overlap from full back Mahmut, teenager Hürkan headed just over. Then in the 39th minute defender Firat managed to get his head to a cross from the right, which the Göçmenköy keeper managed to push onto a post and away for a corner. Three minutes later another teenager Emre Soytürk was set up and put in a fierce shot just wide.
In the second half Göçmenköy stepped up the pace and started to dominate the match, they took the lead through a penalty in the 65th minute awarded after an Esentepe defender had pulled back an attacker. Then Göçmenköy increased their lead 2 minutes later through a beautifully worked goal, following a break on the left, the ball was set up to an opposing player who beat Ali with a strong shot from just outside the box.
Both sides made numerous changes and Göçmenköy carried on looking dangerous, the only real worthwhile attempt from Esentepe came near the end when striker Eser had a shot blocked following a decent move.
Result not really important at this stage, but after two matches played they only look like scoring, when the full backs overlap and manage to get in a cross. A lack of wide men, who can beat a player and cross is becoming evident. The defence is adequate and with an abundance of talent available in the midfield department, it’s all about finding the right combination.
