The arrival of my guest this week at the “The Main Event” studio at Bayrak International was a marvellous treat for me as he was the reason for me to come to North Cyprus 36 years ago to work for him.
My guest is John Aziz Kent who is a local business man who was the first Turkish Cypriot to build a hotel, the 
Celebrity Hotel in Lapta in 1975 despite many difficulties and became the first tour operator who brought many visitors to the TRNC and is now the proud Honorary President of the Hoteliers Association.
John was born in Lefke and as a young man suffered many difficult times before leaving for the UK where he eventually became a very successful businessman with many restaurants.
He then came back to his homeland to try and help his family and countrymen by bringing the skills he learned in the UK and making major investments in trying to develop the hotel and tourism industries of the TRNC.
This interview with John will hold many listeners spellbound as he tells us about his life, heartaches and joys and also shares with us his favourite choice of music on Saturday 16th July at 15.00pm and you can reach this show wherever you are online by following the links below.
