We have received information from St Andrew’s Church, Girne of their forthcoming events in May and June  and would like to share this with our readers.  There is plenty going on and everyone is welcome to attend any or all of these events.St Andrews v.small

 

Wednesday 25th May 

The monthly Community Lunches continue and the next one is on Wednesday  25th May  at the Church Hall at 12.00noon.  The menu is Ham, Salads, Pudding and a vegetarian option. If you would like to come along please book by contacting Ann Iverson on 0533 835 19 81

Saturday 28th May  

A coffee morning is to be held Cup of Coffeeon Saturday 28th May at The Hermitage from 10am to 12noon where excellent coffee, tea and cakes and a raffle will be enjoyed, plus the company of the wonderful members of our congregation and their friends.

 

Saturday 4th June

There is to be a celebratory afternoon tea on Saturday June 4th in honour of the 90th birthday of HatsHer Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.  This will be from 3pm to 5pm at The Hermitage.  (15TL donation in advance or on the gate).

There will be a ‘Best Hat’ competition for Ladies, Gentlemen, Boys and Girls. So get thinking of a fabulous hat fit for a queen and of course there will also be a raffle.

 

Wednesday 1st to Sunday 5th June 

St Andrews Music week.   Gordon Appleton has very kindly accepted our Director of Music’s invitation to lead choral and organ workshops. Gordon comes to us with a wealth of years of church music experience both at home & abroad.Music note

Members of the congregation are invited to attend the following, and friends and visitors are also most welcome to come along.

During this week on Thursday 2nd June there is an informal FAVOURITE HYMNS evening.  There are forms in the church where your Favourite Hymn can be requested.

The purpose of St Andrew’s Music Week, which includes additional choir rehearsals, organ tutorials, hymn singing & learning new music, is aimed at developing and improving what we offer as choir members in church each week.

At the end of this week there is to be a Choral Eucharist at 10.30am on Sunday 5th June to which everyone is invited.
