Raising money for TULIPS (Help Those with Cancer)

A fun-filled Easter Sunday at Cafe George in Kyrenia raised 3,529TL for the Help Those with Cancer Association (Tulips) and will be handed over to Tulips as part of the EFRAR 2016 initiative.

The day started at 11am with music by Brian Hills followed by Jamie, the Man in Black doing a live session to a packed restaurant.

Mr Hills performed an incredible magic show that left everyone guessing how he had performed his tricks and he was followed by South Cyprus performer, Rick Legend, who had come over especially to take part in the event.

Art Watson, Chairman of EFRAR 2016 commented: “This event has been amazing. So many people giving up their time, free of charge, to raise money for the Association. We were so fortunate to have great weather, a top location and top performers.”

The Abnormals, circulated amongst the crowds all day and had photographs taken for a small donation.  One or two even changed costumes during the day but the children were most enamoured with Homer Simpson and scrambled to have their photograph taken with this television icon.

There were several stalls selling donated second-hand jewellery, EFRAR items and books alongside two information stalls, one for Tulips and one for the British Residents Association. They all did brisk business with the second-hand jewellery stall doing particularly good trade amongst the ladies.

The event closed with a final musical duet session by Jamie and Rick Legend.
