Foreign Minister Çolak held contacts in Mersin
Foreign Minister Emine Çolak who held a series of contacts upon the invitation of Mersin Bar Association, visited the TRNC Mersin Consulate and met with the personnel within the framework of her contacts. Çolak also met with Mersin Branch officials of Turkish Cypriot Cultural Association in Turkey.
Çolak who also met with Mersin Bar Association President Alpay Antmen, attended the 8th of March International Women’s Day event organized by Mersin Bar Association and gave a conference entitled “Human Rights and Women’s Rights within the context of Human Rights.”
Davutoğlu met with Schulz and Tsipras
Turkish Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoğlu met with President of the European Parliament (EP) Martin Schulz and Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras.
Davutoğlu who was in Brussels for Turkey-EU summit, also held a meeting with his counterpart Tsipras at the European Commission.
The meeting which was held closed to the press was also attended by Turkey’s Minister for EU Affairs and the Chief Negotiator Volkan Bozkır and Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu.
Panel Discussion entitled “How Women make peacebuilding better” at the buffer zone
UNFICYP and the Home for Cooperation will host a Panel Discussion entitled “How Women make peacebuilding better” on 10 March 2016 in Nicosia under the auspices of the bi-communal Technical Committee for Gender Equality.
The panel will take place at the Home for Cooperation in the buffer zone. The journalist, author, peace and gender equality activist Sevgül Uludağ, gender equality expert Xenia I. Loizidou and the Professor of Economics and gender equality expert Fatma Güven Lisaniler will give speeches at the panel.
