Peter Wills – a Film Man

This week it is my pleasure to welcome Peter Wills to the Bayrak studios to talk to us on A Cup of Conversation about the Second Golden Island International Film Festival and the move to try and promote the need and setting up of a TRNC Film Commission.
As many of cyprusscene readers will know, Peter had a background in the UK with 40 years working as a marketing manager, journalist and public relations manager in the tourism, leisure and hospitality industries. He also appeared as an extra and actor in several British television series and dramas and had minor roles in two feature length movies before re-locating to Northern Cyprus.
Peter acted as the TRNC representative for the First Golden Island International Film Festival here in the TRNC and is now preparing for the second festival which is to be held later this year.
Having formed a company here in the TRNC, “North Cyprus Films” to provide services and support to would be film makers wanting to come to Northern Cyprus, Peter is now promoting the concept of a Film Commission in the TRNC and trying to find partners in the private sector and, with the TRNC authorities, to make this become a reality.
Our interview will be broadcast on BRT 2 TV at 11.00 am this Saturday the 5th of March, and repeated on Tuesday the 8th of March at 3.00 pm.
