Esentepe Hit For 6 After Leading 2-0.

Result : Esentepe KKSK 2 Türk Ocagi Limasol 6

Saturday January 23rd 2016 : Friendly match : at Tatlisu Synthetic Stadi.

They say class will come through in the end and it certainly did after Esentepe shocked Super League side Türk Ocak by taking a 2 goal lead. Esentepe did well to remain in the game up to half time but after the break Türk Ocak took full command and ran out easy winners.

The match was switched to the artificial surface of Tatlisu Stadi, due to the poor condition of the Esentepe pitch. Multi- rich Türk Ocak who made three signings this week including the signing of Esentepe striker Deniz Kibar, for a reported 20,000 TL fee. It is a loan signing to the end of the season, with further options for next season. Deniz was in the Türk Ocak start line up, and a good crowd was attracted to the match on a bitterly cold afternoon.

Goals:

02 mins : Esentepe took an early lead, following good work by Umar on the left who won possession of the ball before sending over a perfect cross to the far post, where BAŞAK headed over Goalkeeper Cenk and into the net. 1-0.

Türk Ocak replied and Esentepe were under the cosh for long periods and a combination of last minute blocks/tackles and wasteful finishing prevented an equaliser. Against the run of play Esentepe further increased their lead in the 30th minute following a break on the left, EMEK tried his luck with a 25 yard shot which beat the diving Cenk on his left hand side. 2-0.

33 mins : Türk Ocak at last got onto the score sheet and it was Esentepe old boy Deniz who scored his first goal for his new Club. Mahmut lost possession of the ball just outside his area and in a flash Deniz had fastened onto the loose ball and slipped the ball over the advancing Serkan. 2-1.

36 mins Türk Ocak equalised after some lovely inter passing, the ball eventually falling to Türk Ocak player 33, who on the edge of the area sent in a lovely curling shot past the diving Serkan. 2-2.

Both Clubs made a number of changes during the break.

55 mins : Türk Ocak took the lead following a mix up between Esentepe defender Salih and Goalkeeper Serkan. A cross came in from the right, Salih attempting to chest the ball back to Serkan, only succeeded in miss chesting the ball and in nipped Turk Ocak African player No 16 to prod the ball past Serkan.

65 mins / 66 mins : Esentepe Goalkeeper Serkan had a nightmare 2 minutes, as Esentepe gave away 2 goals in a minute. They conceded a free kick just outside the box, No 10 took the kick which went through the wall and trickled into the net with Serkan making no attempt to save the ball. Serkan started blaming the wall for allowing the ball through and his defenders started arguing with Serkan who thought he should have made more effort in saving the shot. 2-4. In the meantime with Serkan still arguing, Esentepe had kicked off lost possession and number 16 spotting Serkan wasn’t concentrating on the game lobbed the unhappy keeper. 2-5. Esentepe Coach Gokan Kim immediately replaced Serkan with teenager Kurşat. Serkan continued to be very unhappy in the dug out.

83rd mins :

Player No 16, name unknown to me, completed his hat trick with an identical goal to Türk Ocak’s 5th. They broke on the right the ball was squared across the area where No 16, perfectly lobbed keeper Kursat. Full Time: 2-6.

SUMMING UP :

The scoreline flattered Türk Ocak a little as 3 of the goals came from Esentepe errors. Türk Ocak, with many replacements available on the bench looked classy. Esentepe huffed and puffed with their limited resources but can certainly be pleased with their first half performance. You can’t do anything about individual errors for three of the goals in the second half.
