Christmas Hamper Raffle in aid of Tulips/HTWCA

A stunning Christmas Hamper was up for grabs via a raffle consisting of 14 bottles of alcohol, a Christmas cake, a Christmas pudding, mince pies, shortbread, chocolates
and crackers via a raffle that was held during a Karaoke afternoon at Freddies Bar, Lapta on Saturday 19th December.
The winning ticket was white, number 51.
We would like to offer our sincere thanks to Penny Hughes who came up with this idea and provided the contents of the hamper for Tulips/HTWCA in memory of her husband, Howard Hughes. Also to everyone who dug deep into their pockets during this season of goodwill especially as there are so many other fundraising events taking place during December.
We would also like to personally thank Lyn and John Dyer who donated 50TL to help replace some of the items that were lost during a flood from Thursday night’s torrential storms and also to Bestseller for the wrapping paper to renew and decorate the hamper!
A tremendous sum of 2,250tl was raised which has not only paid for a nurse’s wages for one month in the Lefkosa State Hospital Oncology Unit but also helped fund one chemotherapy session for someone who otherwise could not afford it.
