St Andrew’s Church, Kyrenia – Christmas Events

St Andrew’s Church, Kyrenia

Christmas events

By Margaret Sheard…..

As a youngster I remember attending our local Parish Church, with my friend Caroline and our mothers, for what we called the “Watchnight Service” and then walking about 3 miles home, sometimes through snow, so Christmas Eve always conjures up the memories of carols and choir boys and snow and the start of the Christmas Day festivities.

St Andrew’s Church, Kyrenia, will be holding an event and services for the build up to Christmas Day and these include Midnight Mass on Christmas Eve, which we have attended in previous years and hope to be there this year.

On Wednesday 16th December at 7pm there will be a Victorian Evening of song and verse in St Andrew’s Church Hall, with supper of Pie, Mash and Peas and there will be prizes for the best costumes.   For more information about this event contact Bill Grundy on 0542 889 0072.

Christmas Services are as follows:-

20th December at 9am – there will be a Christmas service for children and young families in the Church Hall.

Sunday 20th December at 6pm
Nine Lessons and Carols by
candlelight.

Christmas Eve at 4pm – Christingle Service

Christmas Eve at 11.30pm – Midnight Mass

Christmas Day at 10.30am – Celebration Eucharist

Everyone is welcome and for further details please contact Rev. Wendy Hough – 0392 815 4329 and 0533 833 6346.

A very Happy Christmas to all
