ASAP ALL STARS

Thoughts for the week

Looking Back and Goodbye

Looking Back – Until you heal the wounds of your past, you are going to bleed.

You can bandage the bleeding with food, with alcohol, with drugs, with work, with cigarettes, with sex; but eventually, it will all ooze through and stain your life.

You must find the strength to open the wounds, stick your hands inside, pull out the core of the pain that is holding you in your past, the memories and make peace with them in order to move forward – never look back!

One who looks back isn’t living in the present……..The only moment that matters is this moment, this second, right now!

Looking Back. I love to look back and remember all the places I have been to, all the people I met along the way, some are no longer here, but are always in my thoughts.

Music, plays a great part in this, you hear a song, one that you haven’t heard for a long time, and it takes you back, and you are there again, just like it was yesterday.

My dad always says you should never go back, only move forward, and I think he’s right, as nothing is the same as before. But your memories are the same.

So reminisce and enjoy

Looking Back – I feel very proud of myself when I look back over the last 4 years….

I managed to stop a 20 year drink problem on Boxing Day 2011.

I’d wanted to give up for quite a time, as I was sick of saying ‘sorry’ to friends and relatives for my outrageous behaviour whilst under the influence, so, after yet another disastrous Christmas Day, I finally did something about it.

I met with some AA people whilst drinking my usual vodka and Coke, and told them I’d had enough. To be fair, it was my third attempt, but I was determined this time, so, with my own willpower I knocked it on the head and haven’t drank since!

Long may it continue.

I have made fantastic new friends who never knew me in my drinking days, and thank god for that, as they wouldn’t even have looked twice at me in the old days. I’m very proud of myself….xxx

Looking Back. I never really spend time looking back!

I have some great memories and some very bad.  Some of the best moments keep me going though when things are tough. I have had great times in my life, where you would just think that was impossible and I just lived it.

My life has been full of ups and downs, but I would never change any of it. Its all been a learning curve from which I can now teach my daughter and try to show her where I went wrong and how to avoid doing the same.

I do not look back, but look forward and plan the future  for my family.

After all, someone has to take daddy’s place on stage Lol.

Looking Back. As most people now know by now  we have decided to stay and live in TRNC. We moved over here almost 2 years ago with high hopes of me building a career here in the entertainment industry through  at the time the only legal Agency in TRNC.

A lot of time and effort was put in assisting me to do this by fellow artists, the Agency, and some good friends who run some social media websites.

The venues also worked with me to provide their customers with some excellent nights with food and entertainment. Then for reasons that have already been well documented the Agency announced its sale or closure and as far as I know no buyer has been found, so it will close at the end of November.

‘ Two steps forward and one step back’ comes to mind. Still we made a choice to move here and we will continue to enjoy our lives in TRNC whatever happens.

The pen is mightier than the swordLooking Back. We have now reached the point where the ASAP All Stars are all now taking separate paths for the future.

Much has been written by cyprusscene and in other media about the slow but sure demise of ASAP, the only legal entertainers agency for expatriates in Northern Cyprus.

Clearly if it had been possible for ASAP to negotiate changes in the current legislation then we would have seen them grow and go forward into the new year with renewed successes.

Sadly their efforts and also their entertainers were marred by a number of selfish wannabies who want to bully and intimidate but that is now history.

Looking back, cyprusscene had attempted to help the agency and its entertainers because that’s what we like to do, help people. If we have seemed to have been outspoken on the issue of illegal entertainment we have no regrets as it is the duty of the media to stand up for truth and honesty.

**********

As a thank you to all of those fans, we present on behalf of the ASAP ALL STARS their swan song and goodbye

So with these haunting sounds we say a final farewell in the gathering gloom to those great guys and gals of ASAP who have brought us so much happiness and enjoyment.
