North Cyprus Film needs you!

If you have a passion for films and filming, this is an opportunity you cannot afford to miss.

NORTH CYPRUS FILM, in conjunction with the Government, Commercial and Trade Organisations and a number of entrepreneurial individuals and companies, are embarking on a project designed to establish the TRNC as a significant location for filming and film-makers.

Significant progress has been made over the past two years but assistance is now required to push this project forward. The aim is to create a Film Commission for North Cyprus, in order to attract the funding required for a strong marketing campaign and to set up the infrastructure for an island-based film industry.

Currently this is a voluntary position, hence the use of the word “passion” in our headline although eventually there is every possibility of payments being made for the work undertaken. It is also a part-time role with flexible hours to suit the individual and the requirements of this diverse and interesting job.

Although no experience of the film industry is required, candidates must meet the following criteria:

Be Fluent in Turkish and English, both spoken and written.
Be Computer literate. Experience in Microsoft “Publishing” and/or “Wordpress” would be an advantage.
Have an outgoing personality with the confident ability to communicate at all levels.
Be capable of vocally translating from English to Turkish and vice versa at small meetings involving ‘high-level’ personnel.
Have administrative experience. A working knowledge of sales or marketing would be an added bonus.
Be enthusiastic about films and filming.
Hold a current driving license and preferably have your own car.
Preferably live in the Girne / Kyrenia area.

This is your opportunity to become involved with an exciting new and long term project. Age or gender is not important, but enthusiasm and a willingness to take on the challenges of creating a “new industry” for Northern Cyprus are most important.
