The owner of the restaurant, Şevki Nasipoğlu, along with Alex and Laura Kennedy and Paul Harman prepared and cooked a great selection of mezes and BBQ food.

Brian Hills and Gavin shared the evening’s music and compering which worked really well and the dance floor was buzzing.

Paul Harman was delighted to accept the Carrington Cup for his “outstanding contribution to EFRAR” from Chairman Art Watson.  Mr Watson commented: “Paul walks every year, raises a good amount of money and supports us in any way he can. He thoroughly deserved the nomination this year and I am delighted he is here to receive his trophy.”

Undoubtedly the stars of the evening were the Filipino dancers. They had approached Mr Nasipoğlu a few days previously offering to dance and so performed 2 dances in traditional dress.

The troupe consists of 10 dancers who perform two or three times a year at charitable events. They call themselves The Filipino Dance Group of Northern Cyprus and all met at the Catholic Church in Girne. They have been together for about 2 years and have offered to dance again at charitable events for the Association.

The jewellery sale raised 260TL, the raffle 650TL, Gavin’s requests 360TL and the donation from the owner of Tumba’s, 300TL which made a grand total of 1,570TL for Tulips.
