Leaders watched a theatre play in Limassol
President Akıncı and Greek Cypriot leader Nikos Anastasiades watched “Rumca küstüm, Türkçe Kırıldım” theatre play of Lefkoşa Municipality Theatre in Limassol.
Leaders attended the play with their wives. Both people and press showed great interest for the event. Akıncı and Anastasiades made statements at the end of the theatre play.

In his speech President Akıncı said “Here we watched a play with my friend Nikos which gave us a powerful message. The message was ‘no one is faultless and innocent’. Both societies made mistakes in the past. The goal is to learn from past mistakes and to give a better future to the younger generation.”
As an answer to a question, Akıncı said that he has been to Limassol many times and added “Now it is my friend’s turn to pay a visit, and of course we will come again. There will be more dialogue and we will communicate much more and freely. For this we will have to work more.”
Greek Cypriot leader Nikos Anastasiades said in his speech “We saw a strong message. We have to work very hard to find peace. I will ask the Minister of Education to show this play at all schools around the island. The message is very powerful. We should give a chance to the young generation to live in peace and prosperity.”
As an answer to a question “Will you visit the North?”Anastasiades said “It’s among my plans to go to the other side. The Northern part is also a part of my country and South is also Mustafa’s. This is the same for all Cypriots. It’s also my country”.
Negotiators met yesterday
Within the context of the ongoing negotiations in order to find a solution to the Cyprus problem, Turkish Cypriot Negotiator Özdil Nami met yesterday with Greek Cypriot Negotiator Andreas Mavroyiannis. The meeting continued for five and a half hours. The Negotiators who met at the Ledra Palace hotel in Nicosia in the buffer zone did not make statements to press after the meeting.
The Negotiators will meet again tomorrow.
Caner Gönyeli 2015 Search and Rescue Exercise starts today
Martyr Lieutenant Caner Gönyeli 2015 Search and Rescue Exercise is going to start with participation of civil and military factors today. The exercise will be performed between 9-12 June in the region of Girne 101 Houses (St.Hilarion), Famagusta, offshore in the Eastern Mediterranean, TRNC lands and territorial waters and Turkish Search and Rescue Region at international waters.
A crisis at Metehan crossing point
Due to Greek police not allowing a Turkish Cypriot bus driver to pass to the Greek Cypriot side caused arguing and a crisis yesterday. A Turkish Cypriot bus driver was carrying tourists from Metehan crossing point to the Greek Cypriot side but Greek Cypriot police did not allow him to pass to the South although the bus had the necessary permissions. When the Greek police didn’t allow the bus driver to pass to the other side, the bus driver stopped the bus and parked in front of the road. The crisis was ended when the bus driver was persuaded to drive the bus away. (Yeni Bakış)
