SOS Staff Receive Team Building and

Environment Training

SOS Children’s Village mothers and aunts strengthened their team-building skills and got closer to nature in a training workshop by the sea.

With the aim of raising respectful and environmentally responsible adults, SOS Children’s Village combined the team building activity, at Karaoğlanoğlu’s Riviera Beach Bungalows, with seminars on the environment, which they will then share SOS Staff Training imagewith the children through play.

A team of 13 mothers and aunts, who care for children at the Lefkoşa Village, took part in the training between December 19th and 21st, 2014.

Instructor Tarık Tekman and biologist and nature guide Tuğberk Emirzade volunteered their services for the workshop.

Mr Emirzade gave tips on how to educate children about environmental awareness, explaining it was impossible to want to protect the environment, without getting familiar with it and developing strong feelings for it. He shared examples of games to be played with the children, focusing on nature.

Meanwhile, Mr Tekman demonstrated the methods of healing energy exercise Qigong, as well as practices of Feng Shui.

SOS Children’s Village Family Based Care Adviser Refika İnce said:

“It was a wonderful workshop, with the SOS mums and SOS aunts working together with the experts in a “one heart” philosophy.

“The team got a chance to explore their spirituality, as well as trying out the Chinese bioenergetics exercise Qigong. Also, we learnt how to design our houses into more spacious and peaceful living spaces with the Feng Shui tips.”
