Christmas Day at Rafters
Restaurant, Ozanköy
By Margaret Sheard….
It is almost Christmas and time to start thinking about what we are going to do on Christmas Day 2014. A lot of people, especially expatriate Brits, prefer to cook their own Christmas dinner at home, with Turkey and all the trimmings. Why have all that hassle? It is so nice to get dressed up and go out for Christmas Day lunch and let someone else do the cooking.
For those who are taking the option of going out to a local restaurant for their Christmas Day celebrations, have you booked yet? Personally, this is the option I take every year and what better than a short walk to our local restaurant – Rafters in Ozanköy.
There is always a welcoming smile from Abbas and his staff and a cheery log fire burning, the restaurant nicely decorated with colourful streamers and a Christmas tree and we know we will be treated to a good traditional lunch served by the nice staff at Rafters, who scuttle around for hours to make sure everyone is happy.
This year is no exception, although initially it was thought perhaps to have a change of venue, but it is always wise to go along with what you know rather than be disappointed with another choice.
On Thursday 25th December our Christmas Day will be spent at Rafters and I believe there are still one or two places left, so if you haven’t made any arrangements yet perhaps now is the time to make sure you are going to celebrate Christmas Day in the traditional style.
Rafters has built up a very good reputation and is very popular with twice weekly entertainment nights and Abbas is very proud to be mentioned by Trip Advisor.
To see a review and pictures at a previous Christmas Day at Rafters visit their website and you can also visit Rafters on Facebook
When the Christmas and New Year festivities are all over and done with, you can still have very enjoyable evenings at Rafters with a Quiz Night on Mondays, Andrew Sings….. Wednesdays (twice monthly) and Katie B on Saturdays.
