50 Years of happy marriage
for Geraldine and Werner Fayers
By Carole King and Sue Tilt
Hello readers
Geraldine and Werner Fayers celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary on 12 September. In celebration of this event they hosted over 70 people at a dinner held at Eminen Restaurant in Çatalköy. They had arranged for Ella to sing on the evening and a fabulous time was had by all.
They were married in St Patricks Church, Nuthall, Nottinghamshire on the 12 September 1964 and they moved to the TRNC in May 1987, 27 years ago. They both attend St Andrews Church in Girne and are well known and well liked in the Ex-pat community.
Geraldine and Werner had asked for no presents but for donations to be given to Tulips (Help Those With Cancer Association) on the night.
So it is with great pleasure that we can tell you that due to the generosity of their guests on that evening they raised a fantastic 1,750TL and £70, making a grand total of 2,000TL on the night. We can only thank them and their guests for supporting Tulips and raising this amazing amount of money.
When we asked Geraldine why she was supporting Tulips, she replied that their family had been affected by Cancer and that Tulips Charity were actually helping the individual people who have cancer and their families.
Our thanks to all concerned and our congratulations to Geraldine & Werner, and may the next 50 years be as happy.
Kindest Regards
Carole and Sue
