Colin Mulcahy – Rest in Peace

Latest News:

For those wishing to pay their last respects to Colin, the funeral is at Green Hill cemetery on Friday 15th August at 10.30am.

By Margaret Sheard

I was shocked and saddened to hear the news of the death of Colin Mulcahy during last weekend and feel so much for his wife Jo who was away in the UK at the time.

I have known Colin for some years, firstly as a co-committee member of the British Resident’s Society, during which time Colin gave me a lot of Colin during BRT interviewuseful advice and help as a newcomer, for which I was very grateful.   We then met up again when Chris and I were contributors of articles in the Cyprus Observer and Colin also wrote from time to time.

More recently we were able to give some promotion to Colin’s interest in the 3 Castles and an Abbey trail run on our cyprusscene website so although I did not know Colin all that well, our paths have crossed on many occasions and I always found him to be a courteous and very considerate and caring person.

There will be many who will miss Colin and will want to pay their last respects.  As soon as we have some further information we will publish this and in the meantime our heartfelt condolences go to Jo and the family, who must be deeply shocked at the sudden loss of Colin as we all are.

  1. Colin was a great sportsman too. His passion of trailrunning was truly inspirational. If only I was not abroad and had been able to shown my respect for him at his funeral.

    1. Thank you Bertug, although you could not be there I am sure you were thinking of Colin. Many people attended to pay their respects and Jo had some lovely things to say about their life together.
