Calendar Launch

We met up with Richard Chamberlain who was sitting outside the 
Bandabulya in Girne chatting to the locals under the trees and Engin Dervişağa and his BRTK film crew arrived to film an interview in the Round Tower with Richard for the TV Vox Pop show. As soon as we are aware of the transmission date and time, this will be published by Engin Dervişağa on cyprusscene.com.
While we were sitting having coffees and cold drinks the film crew were very interested in looking at Richard’s new calendar, original book and also the prototype of the new book which will be available
very soon.
It was a pleasure to meet up with Richard again at The Round Tower for his one day exhibition of photographs and the launch of his beautiful new 2015 Calendar entitled Cyprus – Yesterday and Today. I had been lucky to meet Richard a while back when he had asked my opinion about the calendar when he was putting it together and I must say the end result is a wonderful display of photos taken of people and places in Cyprus in 1954 and brought up to date with virtually the same shots in 2014. This is surely something to retain as a keepsake of Cyprus heritage long 
after the calendar has served its purpose.
The calendar for 2015, also including 3 months of 2016, is now on sale at the Round Tower and Bestseller Bookshops in Karakum and Alsancak at 25TL.
There was a lovely display in the Round Tower of Richard’s photographs taken in 1954 when he and his twin brother did their UK National Service in Cyprus and also the original book Cyprus Scenes and Way of Life in 1954 was available for purchase. Even more exciting news is that Richard has now compiled a second book of photographs and this will be available at the outlets shown above in about 2 weeks time. Again, this is a wonderful account of Cyprus in pictures.
Following the filming Richard’s daughter Lynne arrived with her little girl and by this time there was also a steady stream of visitors coming into the Round Tower who were no doubt delighted to see the exhibition of photographs, and the new calendar.
