K9 Country Kennels, Kaplica

Way back in 2012, while contributing articles to the Cyprus Observer, I wrote an article about K9 Country Kennels in Kaplica and this was subsequently reproduced on cyprusscene.com in September 2012.  Of course, some of the information is now very much out of date and we are taking the opportunity of publishing a new article with current prices and information.

There is always a need to find a nice place to accommodate pets when going away on holiday or back to the UK for family matters and this needs to be done as well in advance as possible to be assured of availability.

First of all, in case readers are not aware of the location of K9 Country Kennels, I am giving directions below:-

From Girne follow the road to Catalkoy and continue until you come to a fork in the road and turn left and follow the road to ESENTEPE.  Keeping on the main road you will go past Esentepe petrol station then past a supermarket called BLUE DREAM,  keep going on the same main road, soon you will arrive at a T junction, turn LEFT towards TATLISU.  At Tatlisu you will come to a small roundabout  with a petrol station on the left, go straight over, about 10 minutes later you will arrive at KAPLICA Hotel on the left, we ask customers to call us from there and we can either come and meet you and you can follow us in or we can come and collect you. The telephone number is 0533 883 3366.

The Kennels are run by Suzanne Fehmi and Rose Bastow with their band of helpers and we have now received up to date prices for boarding etc.

Boarding fees per night

1 Dog                       25TL

2 Dogs sharing        45TL

3 Dogs sharing        60TL

4 Dogs sharing        80TL (family kennel)

5 Dogs sharing      100TL (family kennel)

If multiple dogs need to be housed in separate kennels then the price will be charged as a single dog.

K9 are now happy to be able to add a new service and they can now transport your pet by CARGO to most destinations. They need weight, together with your pet, and size of your travel box to be able to give you a quote.

K9 Country Kennels also have a pet cemetery. They will collect from the veterinary clinic and bury your pet at K9.   The cost is 250TL plus 80TL to cover petrol costs.   It is not always possible for people to bury their pets in the garden so this is a lovely way to ensure your pet has a final resting place where you can visit from time to time.
