President Eroğlu: “Anastasiades has not accepted the road map we determined”

In his speech at the reception of a delegation consisting of students Dervis Eroglu 10and the Director of Washington American University, Peace and Conflict Resolution Program, Associate professor Elefterios Michael, President Eroğlu gave information about the latest developments in the negotiation process and stated that currently the Turkish Cypriot side has determined a road map however this has not been accepted by Anastasiades.

Stressing that the desire of the Turkish and Greek Cypriots for a solution has further increased, Prime Minister Özkan Yorgancıoğlu said: “We believe that as long as the Cyprus Problem is not solved, it is not possible for the people living in this country to be confident about the future.”

Füle: “Conditions have changed since my last visit; regional stability is not something to be easily discarded”

EU Commissioner Responsible for Enlargement and European Neighborhood Policy Stefan Fule has said that conditions have changed since his last visit and as it has been in the Syria case, regional stability is not something to be easily discarded.

Rubin: “Historical progress will be achieved this year and we are ready to do our part in order to support”

Deputy Assistant Secretary in the Bureau of European and Eurasian Eric RubinAffairs of the US Department of State – Eric Rubin met with the TRNC President – Dr. Derviş Eroğlu yesterday at the TRNC Presidential Palace. Replying the questions of press after the meeting Rubin stated that an historical progress can be achieved in 2014 and they support this process.

Rubin also expressed that the meeting with the TRNC President was very fruitful and the USA supports the efforts of both peoples and leaders in order to make the negotiation process successful.

He added that the USA is ready to assist the confidence building measures or the studies that will favour both communities.

Foreign Minister Nami receives students of Washington American University

The Minister of Foreign Affairs – Özdil Nami received students and the Director of Washington American University, Peace and Conflict Resolution Program, Associate Professor Elefterios Michael yesterday.

In his speech during the reception, FM Nami Ozdil Namibriefed the students about the Cyprus history, execution of foreign affairs of the Turkish Cypriots and the procedure followed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Moreover, FM Nami briefed them about the negotiation process and the role of the Ministry at the negotiations and answered the questions of the students.

Later on, Minister Nami received the Board of Directors and sportsmen of Judo, Hapkido and Kickbox Federation yesterday.

The President of Judo, Hapkido and Kickbox Federation – Niyazi Demirel informed FM Nami about the 2014 ISKA World Kickbox Championship to be held during 30 April – 4 May 2014 in Spain’s Costa Brava city.

Demirel thanked to Nami for contributions of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to TRNC Kickbox National Team who will represent our country in this championship.

Foreign Minister Nami meets with Fule

The Minister of Foreign Affairs – Özdil Nami met with EU Commissioner Responsible for Enlargement – Stefan FuStefan Fulele yesterday.

During the meeting, the issues regarding Green Line Regulation and Financial Aid Regulation were discussed.

Moreover, problems of Turkish Cypriot producers regarding crossing of commercial vehicles to South Cyprus and halloumi’s registration were on the agenda of the meeting.

FM Nami expressed his views to Fule regarding the latest stage reached in the Cyprus problem and the Turkish Cypriot side’s point of view regarding the negotiation process.

Exhibition themed ‘Miracle of Cocoon’ has been opened

An Exhibition themed ‘Miracle of Cocoon’ which is organized with the cooperation of TRNC’s Ankara Embassy and the Association of Research and Maintenance of Cyprus Turkish Handicrafts has been opened at Ankara Painting and Sculpture Museum.

Speaking during the opening ceremony of the exhibition, TRNC’s Ankara Ambassador – Mustafa Lakadamyalı said that Cyprus is like a star which unites 3 continents and has shined with its cultural richness and natural beauty for centuries. ‘Our island hosted many civilizations but Turkish Cypriots succeeded to bring their culture from Anatolia into the present by making it richer and not losing anything’ Lakadamyalı added.

Opening Ceremony of New Water Treatment Plant was held

It was stated that the opening ceremony of the new Lefkosa Water Treatment Plant was held in Haspolat yesterday. EU Commissioner Responsible for Enlargement and European Neighbourhood Policy – Stefan Fule, Lefkosa Mayor – Kadri Fellahoglu, Nicosia Greek Cypriot Mayor – Constantinos Yorgacis, UN authorities – Oliver Adam and Tiziana Zennaro attended the ceremony and gave speeches.

The Project was implemented by United Nations Development Program within the framework of a Partnership Program for Future and has become the biggest project of Cyprus.
