Biker Festival in Nicosia

Last Sunday I went on my motorbike “Black Betty” together with my friend Naci on his Harley Davidson and other bikers from Kyrenia to our capital city of Nicosia to participate in a festival for motorcycle friends.
We arrived around lunch time as one of the first guests at the well-known Corner Pub, which was our host and responsible for the organization of the party.
They were actually taking care of everything. A dispensing station for any kind of drinks, another station with freshly prepared Döner kebabs and plenty of seating for the expected numerous visitors who would come to the event.
Several motorcycle clubs from Northern Cyprus arrived in convoys, including the Hells Angels (Turkey Chapter), the Wolf Riders from Famagusta, the Mouflon Riders from Güzelyurt and the HOG – Harley Owners Group of Kyrenia.
In addition to numerous Harley Davidsons, Yamahas, Kawasakis, Hondas, BMWs and other hot motorcycles, three real vintage bikes also arrived. The decades-old machines of the brands Ariel, Matchless and Triumph were a real feast for the eyes for me.
A professional DJ provided a party mood among the guests with good old Rock music and the party went on peacefully with lots of fun and without incidents, except for a car driver who felt – as so often over here – it was not going fast enough for him and tried to have a battle of words with the hilariously partying bikers. Ultimately, he preferred to disappear which was most likely even better for him…!
All in all a great day with like-minded people. I’m looking forward to the upcoming events this year!
