Our colleague, Ralph Kratzer who is the Secretary of The Foreign Residents in the TRNC and also runs a website for the members www.tfrnorthcyprus.wordpress.com producing many articles which he shares with us and vice versa, On a recent trip to Korucam, Ralph met two fellow Germans and got talking to them. They said told him that they love North Cyprus and take many photographs which they publish to promote their favourite place on their website www.nord-zypern.info

After hearing about the website we looked at this and found it to be excellent with many photographs they have taken, so we made contact and recently had the pleasure of meeting up with Chris and Fred at Bellapais during one of their frequent visits to the island, where their base is at Salamis Bay. Chris is an electrical engineer from Nűrnberg and Fred, who is a retired banker, is from a village near Frankfurt. They are both keen photographers and try to visit North Cyprus 3 or 4 times a year when they can pursue their love of photography and explore the island to record what they discover on their website.

Chris said he set up a gallery in 2006 and eventually built the website and transferred the data they had accumulated about North Cyprus so they could continue to promote it.

We spent a couple of hours talking about the island in general and on being asked where their favourite place was, we were told between the Karpaz and Guzelyurt, there isn’t probably a favourite because they both love everything and everywhere from north to south and east to west.

We share our information with many websites and social media pages that have a worldwide readership and we have offered Chris and Fred the opportunity of taking any of our data they might like to share with their German and English speaking readers and we hope in due course also to be able to share some of their excellent pictures and articles with our readers.
