PRESIDENT EROGLU: “ERDOĞAN’S STRESSING OF TWO FOUNDING STATES HAS RELIEVED TURKISH CYPRIOT SIDE”

President Derviş Eroğlu said that Turkish Prime Minister Erdoğan’s stressing of ‘two founding states’ in Cyprus in his last Brussels visit has relieved the Turkish Cypriot side.

Eroğlu said that he has observed once more in his Ankara visit that they were in complete harmony with the Turkish Government regarding the Cyprus negotiations and added: “I am content to observe that we are in harmony”

According to the statement made by the Presidential Press Office, President Eroğlu made special declarations to A Haber and said: “We are not going to get stuck in history but we shall take lessons from the history. Today there are realities which we have lived. We cannot ignore these. There is a state in the South and a state in the North.”

DAVUTOĞLU:“NEGOTIATIONS CONDUCTED IN BÜRGENSTOCK HAVE BIG CONTRIBUTION”

Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoğlu said that if the case of Cyprus is more powerful today compared to 10 years ago, the negotiations conducted in Bürgenstock have a great contribution in this.

Davutoğlu added: “Turkey and the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus have never been accused by the world within the last 10 years after the referendum. Parameters in Cyprus have been changed due to this will that we put forward.

Also the national income increased four times in Cyprus and a Turkish Cypriot community which has become more powerful ahead of the Greek Cypriot community has arisen.”
