Raising money for Help Those With Cancer Association (Tulips)

We have received news from Sue Steel that next year’s event in Esentepe is well underway and there is also a new theme for the day which will place more emphasis on the fun aspect enabling more people to take part.

The new name for the event is the Esentepe Fun, Run and Ramble 2014 and it will be taking place on Sunday 6th April 2014 starting from the Magic Bar, near Esentepe.

There will be a 2km, 5km and 8km race, and registration will begin at 08.45am for all three categories. The 2km race will set off at 09.30am and the 5km and 8km will start together at 10.30am. Participants will be encouraged to get sponsorship and the forms will be available from mid-January or can be pre-requested by emailing esentepefunrunandramble2014@outlook.com. There will be no charge to turn up and take part on the day but a donation will be expected.

The event, which is now in its 4th year, is dedicated to raising as much money as possible for TULIPS and to making the event a fun-filled experience so all participants are encouraged to wear fancy dress or a tee-shirt dedicated to the reason they are participating.

Art Watson, Chairman of the organising committee said: “We are seeking to update the event. We have a new name and a new day which should enable more people to take part. Our prime objective is to raise money for the charity but we want all those involved to enjoy the whole experience”.

The committee are looking for corporate sponsors so will be pleased to hear from any companies who would like to be involved and also the committee need volunteer marshals on the day, so if you can spare some time and would like to help in this fundraising event, please contact Sue Steel by email at suesteel@hotmail.com
