PRESIDENT EROĞLU: “HONOURABLE PEOPLE DO NOT SURRENDER DUE TO PROBLEMS”
Stating that it was not always possible for the States to have complete satisfaction in terms of their economical a
nd social life, President Derviş Eroğlu has said:“None of the honourable people bow down to those who have an eye on their sovereignty and State due to some problems. I would like to underline that the Turkish Cypriots have no problem that they cannot overcome. The Turkish Cypriot people are hardworking, well-educated and enlightened. Our Motherland Turkey which is growing and becoming more powerful day by day stands by us”.
Calling the Greek Cypriot leader Anastasiadis to come to the negotiation table, President Eroğlu said that the necessary ground for the continuation of the negotiations existed; they could sign an agreement which will seriously contribute to the peace in the world and region by building a Cyprus of the future on this ground.
TR PRESIDENT AND PRIME MINISTER CONGRATULATED THE TURKISH CYPRIOT PEOPLE’S REPUBLIC DAY
TR President Abdullah Gül sent a congratulatory message on the 30thanniversary of the establishment of the TRNC and notified that Motherland Turkey will continue to stand by the 
Turkish Cypriot people as it has always done so far and continue to support the Turkish Cypriot people until a new partnership is established; a just and comprehensive solution based on political equality, bi-zonality, bi-communality and two politically equal Founding States is reached.
Stating that the Turkish Cypriot people should never be concerned about their future as Turkey will always continue to support every taken step in terms of reaching prosperity and producing a healthy and dynamic economic infrastructure, TR Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan notified that Turkey’s priority as a guarantor power is the progress and development of the TRNC and standing on its own feet securely.
PRESIDENT EROĞLU EXPRESSES HIS CONDOLENCES TO GREEK CYPRIOT ADMINISTRATION AND PEOPLE
It was stated that President Derviş Eroğlu expressed his condolences to the sister of former President of the 
Greek Cypriot Administration, Glafkos Clerides, due to his death.
President Eroğlu also sent a message to the Greek Cypriot leader Nikos Anastasiadis in which he expressed his sorrow and published a message to the Greek Cypriot people.
The Turkish Foreign Ministry also stated their sorrow due to the death of Clerides who served the Greek Cypriot Administration and people for many years.
FORMER PRESIDENT TALAT: ‘GREEK CYPRIOT SIDE IS RELUCTANT’
Stating that the Greek Cypriot side was reluctant regarding the Cyprus problem, 
the former President, Mehmet Ali Talat, pointed out the attacks on the UN Secretary General’s Special Advisor on Cyprus, Alexander Downer. Stressing that Turkish side should work continuously and intensively in order to stop the tactics of the Greek Cypriot side, Talat said that the Greek Cypriot side made the International Community believe in their thesis so there was not any pressure on the Greek Cypriot side.
