North Cyprus Inflation

expected to be 8% in 2013

The “State Planning Organisation (DPÖ)” in North Cyprus announced its macroeconomic forecasts.

According to the news report in Gazete360.com, the “DPÖ” in a written press statement, announced that the gross domestic product in North Cyprus is expected to be 2,2 per cent in 2013, 4 per cent in 2014 and 3,8 per cent in 2015.

InflationThese figures demonstrate that the growth trend will be lower compared to the last 10 years.

The “DPÖ” also gave forecasts for the inflation in North Cyprus. According to the forecasts, the consumer price index will increase 8 per cent in 2013 compared to December of the previous year; 4,3 per cent in 2014; and 3,9 per cent in 2015.

The organisation stated that exchange rates and the global change in the price of petrol have an important impact on inflation.
