The Royal British Legion, Kyrenia Branch, Poppy Ball will be at the Savoy Ottoman Palace Hotel starting at 7pm.  4-course meal with unlimited local drinks from 7.30pm to midnight. Tickets 110TL for members and 120TL non-members available from the RBL stall at Lambousa Saturday market, to reserve phone 0533 859 2451.  Dress code : Black tie/lounge suits.   There will be music by the Rock and Roll Rebels plus a late night disco with DJ Max and a raffle and auction will also take place during the evening.  
2nd and 3rd November.  Saturday and SundayDate Palm sml  The Lefke Date Festival will be held on Saturday and Sunday 2nd and 3rd November.  There will be stalls, music and dancing and there will be a Dates Tour in the town at 12:00 o’clock on both days, the English speaking guides will show the date trees to the visitors. Meeting at Festival Area. 
3rd November – SundayMotorcycle Bikers, Burgers and Beers 2013 at The Corner House in Ozankoy starting at 12 noon.   If you love motor bikes, this is where you should be.   There will be stalls and entertainment during the afternoon so lots to see and do.  For further information contact Harriet on 0542 852 5258.
Change of date – 2nd November.  (9th November – Saturday)British Residents  BRS Blood Donor Day.  10am to 1pm at The Black Olive Cafe, Alsancak.   3 months must elapse between donations. 
2nd November – Saturday..Bicycle border Lapta Belediyesi will be holding one of their very popular cycle tours.   Meet at the Lapta Municipality at 1.30pm and the tour will start at 2pm.  The route will be Lapta/Karsiyaka/Lapta.  If anyone wants to hire a bicycle through Akcan Cycle Shop, please contact Berke Ertopaloglu on 0533 834 9878 by Thursday 31st October. 
5th November – Tuesday..Books for everyone Bestseller Bookshop, Alsancak now have their “Christmas Shop” set up and there will be a launch between 4pm and 6.30pm when you can meet Father Christmas, have a glass of mulled wine and start Christmas shopping from the range of new books which have arrived and lots more goodies.  There is also 10% off Christmas cards. 
8th November – Friday..Music Note The Almond Lounge in Alsancak will be having live music and prize draw every Friday and this week there will be a Tribute to The Beatles and The Rolling Stones with Barry Snakes. Prize draw tickets will be on sale.   Entry to the Almond Lounge is free 
8th November – FridayBlack Olive logo  70’s Nostalgia night at The Black Olive Cafe.  Great night to be had. 70’s Music 70’s food (fancy dress) Entertainment provided by Andrew sings…..Please book your places for food call 0533 835 5133
9th November – SaturdayKar new sml  Bonfire Night at Lambousa Market site.  Gates open at 5pm.  The bonfire will be lit at 6.30pm and the fireworks will be around 7.30pm (to be confirmed by the Fire Service).  Food and drink will be available throughout the evening and there will be games, stalls and entertainment for all.All proceeds from the games and stalls will be donated to Kyrenia Animal Rescue.Entrance is by advance tickets bought at Lambousa Market – 12.50TL for adults and 10TL for children.  Or on the night entrance is 15TL.There will be plenty of parking available.For more information please telephone 0533 8624662
9th November – Saturday..RBL Logo The Royal British Legion, Kyrenia Branch, Poppy Walk will start and finish at JK’s in Lapta, starting at 11am.  The route of 5km and 10km will include the new coastal footpath, by kind permission of the Lapta Belediyesi.  The event is being sponsored by JK’s and Dağli Sigorta.   Registration and sponsorship forms can be obtained from the RBL stall at Lambousa Market or from the Courtyard Inn, Karakum.

Remembrance Sunday at the Old British Cemetery followed by lunch at The Ship Inn.

The NCCCT will be holding their November Coffee Morning at The Savoy Ottoman Palace Hotel starting at 10.30am.  This is  another lovely venue for this event. There will be stalls selling all sorts of items and with Christmas not too far away this may be a good opportunity to look for some early Christmas presents. 
13th November – WednesdayRBL  The Royal British Legion, Kyrenia Branch, will be holding their Annual General Meeting (AGM) at the Deniz Kizi Hotel in Alsancak, starting at 5pm. 
13th November – Wednesday..Tulips logo english

 

There will be a fundraising event for Help Those with Cancer Association (Tulips) at Cengiz’s Restaurant, Alkan Village, Esentepe.  This will be a Race Night with the first race starting at 7.30pm.  20TL will include Chicken & Chips, Fish & Chips or a Vegetarian option and a donation will be made to Tulips.  Booking essential with a deposit by calling Cengiz on 0533 869 7512. If you want to be an Owner/Jockey please contact Ivor on 0533 839 5380 but note that slots are going fast. All welcome, including non-diners, but as dining spaces are limited you would be wise to book early. This should be a good night so why not go along and have a flutter. 
13th November – Wednesday..Friends of the TRNC Emergency Services The Friends of the TRNC Emergency Services will be holding their Afternoon Tea Talk at 3pm and the speaker will be Steve Sydenham talking about the subject he didn’t have time for at his last talk – “the Ugly” which will be covering some of the less than nice people and celebrities in the motor racing world.  This should be very amusing and interesting. There is of course the nice afternoon tea and the raffle plus Mike’s goodie bag to look forward to as well. To book your place contact Brenda on 0533 840 7834 or Jenny on 0533 876 1483 
15th November – FridayMusic Note  The Almond Lounge in Alsancak will be having live music and prize draw every Friday and this week there will be an Andrew Sings Variety Night.  Prize draw tickets will be on sale.   Entry to the Almond Lounge is free.. 
18th November – Monday..NCCCT logo NCCCT Bingo at the Ravine in Alsancak starting at 8pm.  The rollover jackpot stands at 800TL.  35TL for a book of bingo sheets and a chance of a mini Mars or Snickers Bar for winning lines or a house and of course there is the free raffle as well.   Come along and have a nice Fish & Chip meal and an enjoyable evening’s bingo with Carole and Mike. For further information contact Carole Lloyd on 0533 8600357

1st December – SundayTFR New  The Foreign Residents in the TRNC (TFR) will be holding their annual Christmas Dinner at 6pm at The Deniz Kizi Hotel in Alsancak.  60TL for members and 70TL for non-members.For further information visit the TFR weekly get-together at The Aeria Bar, Lapta on Fridays from 4pm to 6pm or email horstgutowski1949@gmail.com

The Friends of the TRNC Emergency Services will be opening their “Santa’s Grotto” at the Mountain View Hotel for the local schools and all children who would like to come along and visit Santa.  This is going to be a superb grotto which will delight children of all ages.

18th December – WednesdayDogankoy Church  The group who look after the upkeep of Dogankoy Church have arranged a pre-Christmas lunch at 1pm at Al Shaheen Restaurant in Karakum.  This will be 35TL per person and consists of a 2-course meal followed by tea/coffee and a liqueur.
