TFR – Member holds TRNC Record 

in Blood Donation

A member of The Foreign Residents in the TRNC (TFR), Ken Hartill, is not only a good ten-pin bowling player, he also holds the actual record in blood donation in North Cyprus.

He has given blood 71 times  in  North Cyprus State Hospitals since his relocation to Alsancak in the year 2000, he has only been hindered to donate more by the law, which allows only up to 4 donations a year.

Due to the fact that there are, from time to time, shortages at the TRNC central blood bank, Ken appeals to everybody, who is healthy enough to give his/her blood and under the age of 67, to follow his example.

In his words: “Giving blood will save someone´s life. It´s a way of giving back to the community and the country, and only takes 10 minutes…”

Ken, who has been a donor since 1972 and holder of the UK Gold Donor Card, gives his blood not only in North Cyprus but also on every visit back to his homeland UK.
