SEMINAR ON FOOTBALLER HEALTH

HELD AT GAU

A seminar organized by the mutual attempt of the Girne American University (GAU) and TRNC Football Clubs Association has been held at GAU Cyprus Campus Millennium Senate Congress Centre.

GAU 1The President of the TRNC Football Clubs Association – Yurdaer Garip, the Mayor of Girne – Sümer Aygın, the Secretary General of GAU – Dr. Sualp Davut, the Director of GAU BESYO –  Assist.Prof.Dr. Mustafa Apak and Representative of TRNC Football Association and Responsible for Foreign Affairs, Orçun Kamalı, attended the seminar.

Director of GAU BESYO Assist. Prof. Dr. Mustafa Apak, Consultant Psychologist Şerife İncirlili and Consultant Dietician Ezgi Temeller contributed to the opening speeches of the seminar which focused on Football Clubs’ footballers that are active in the Girne area and the students of GAU.

The Director of GAU BESYO Assist. Prof. Dr. Mustafa Apak spoke of  the purpose of the Health of Footballer Seminar at his opening speech which had been organized by the mutual co-operation  of the TRNC Football Clubs Association and GAU and he said that the purpose of the Health of Footballer Seminar is to get the academic aspect of the sport, to give information to youth about the education possibilities and to raise the awareness of the health of sports people.  Apak emphasized that everyone who set their heart on sport and football gives a huge part of their time to practice so that they could perhaps be successful. He also presented his thanks to everyone for their contributions which supported the organization.

Following the speech of Director of GAU BESYO Assist.GAU 2 Prof. Dr. Mustafa Apak, the Representative of the TRNC Football Association and Responsible for Foreign Affairs, Orçun Kamalı, also expressed through his speech that, as a Football Federation they recognise the health of sportsman and they believe that these kinds of seminars would raise awareness of the sportsman.  Kamalı presented his thanks to the Director of the TRNC Football Clubs Association Yurdaer Garip and GAU for their significant efforts to support the organization and he also emphasized that he believes that this sort of education will be effective for the development of the youth who are active in sports.

The Mayor of Girne Sümer Aygın recorded in his speech that, these kinds of projects would contribute significantly to the country’s sport and he also said that they had co-ordinated a seminar themed on football accidents with the Girne Municipality and GAU co-operation a few years ago and he said that there were various topics presented during the seminar. Aygın expressed that, as the Girne Municipality they will continue to give recognition to the sport and sportsmen in the future. He also emphasized the importance of the sport especially for young individuals.

After the opening speeches the Director of GAU BESYO – Assist. Prof. Dr. Mustafa GAU 3Apak gave information to the footballers about who is the talented and healthy footballer, how he should be? How the  life of a successful footballer should be? Consultant Psychologist – Şerife İncirli,  advised the requirements of a healthy development for the footballers between the ages of 13-16 (Adolescent) periods.  After that, Consultant Dietician – Ezgi Temeller informed the students of GAU and Athletes of the Football Club about “What is healthy nutrition? How does it exist? and the food habits of the sportsman”.

At the end of the seminar, the Mayor of Girne – Sümer Aygın, Secretary General of GAU – Dr. Sualp Davut and the Representative of  the TRNC Football Association – Orçun Kamalı  presented plaques of appreciation to the Director of GAU BESYO – Assist. Prof. Dr. Mustafa Apak, Consultant Psychologist – Şerife İncirli and Consultant Dietician – Ezgi Temeller.
