NCCCT Coffee Morning at the Merit
By Margaret Sheard
As sometimes happens, there was more than one event during the morning of Tuesday 8th October, so unfortunately I was unable to attend the NCCCT coffee morning which was held at the lovely Merit Park Hotel, but their new Secretary, Laura Curry, has very kindly sent some information so I am able to share this with our readers. This is what Laura has said:-
“It was an excellent turnout; between 140 and 150 people attended and there was an amount of 2,848TL raised from the raffle etc.
A fabulous amount of 4,175 lira was handed over by the Funky Divaz Salon in Karakum. This came from their “Funky Cuts for Cancer” and “Let’s Wax Gurk” events held last month. Trigg’s Quiz donated a further 2,000 lira.
Sadly, 720 lira was handed over by ESK following a collection after Paul Allen’s death. A further 620 lira was collected at the wake at the Corner House.
There was a fabulous response from the NCCCT supporters when it was announced that the next coffee morning would be at Di Figaro, so it looks as though the next event will be a good turnout as well.
The October coffee morning was a huge success and with the donations from various places the result for the NCCCT funds was tremendous. NCCCT have a lot of support and it is important to keep this going to enable them to continue with their brilliant work,
The next coffee morning on the 12th November looks as if it will be another popular event, as the venue looks superb and I am sure many people will want to attend.
