GAU TO UNVEIL THE UNKNOWN OF
THE MEDITERRANEAN
GROUND BREAKING PROTOCOL BETWEEN GAU AND ATLANTIS UNDERWATER RESEARCH INSTITUTE
GAU Chancellor of the Board of Administrators – Serhat Akpınar, Vice- Chancellors of Board of Administrators – Olgun Üstün and Cemile Esenyel, Director of Higher School Tourism and Applied Accommodation – Assist. Prof. Dr. İsmet Esenyel, have contributed to the signing of the protocol amongst GAU and Atlantis Underwater Research Institute in America. The protocol will contribute for the research and protection of sunken vessels and other historical ruins, undertaking research and exploring environmental parameters, sea surface, fish and marine organism populations, reinforcing the habitat of the endangered marine organisms by preserving their zones of production and keeping control and prevention of sea pollution.
GAU Chancellor of Board of Administrators – Serhat Akpınar stated that the co-operation with Mediterranean Underwater Research Centre and Atlantis Research Institute will develop assistance to develop biological life period by utilizing advance technology silicon seabed scanning via applying research in international waters. Furthermore Akpınar also stated that sunken vessels and wreckage will be explored and many other unknown details of the Mediterranean will be unveiled. Finally it has been stated that the Board expected soon from the USA will aid the commencement and development of the process.
