ACCREDITATION CONFERENCE TO BE

HELD AT GAU CYPRUS CAMPUS

Following the re-accreditation and equivalence of Girne American University Business and Economy Faculty Business programs by the world leading international accreditation institution IACBE (International Assembly for Collegiate Business Education) in 2013, the IACBE conference of Europe will be held at the GAU Cyprus Campus.

GAU expressed further that, the European IACBE conference which will be held at the GAU Cyprus Campus on 24-25 of October 2013 will host hundreds of international scientists. The conference is set to be held annually by the universities every October, examining vocational development and development of application programs in the business field.

As well as GAU, the IACBE Accreditation was also accredited to leading Business and Economy educators such as the American Business School –Paris (France), Harris-Stowe State University (Missouri), Jamestown College (North Dakota), Lynn University (Florida), Nazareth College of Rochester (New York), Oakland City University (Indiana), Thomas University (Georgia) and the Swiss School of Management – Universita Europea di Roma (Italy). GAU Canterbury (England) Campus is also accredited by IACBE.

The GAU CEO and Vice-Chancellor of Board of Administrators Assist. Prof Dr. Asım Vehbi drew attention to the significance of IACBE Accreditation and Equivalence on Business and Economy education, and also stressed the significance of overseas recognition and accreditation of local universities with regard to IACBE accreditation. Vehbi stressed that IACBE accreditation and equivalence has also been recognized by the most important accreditation of the USA education system, the CHEA (Council for Higher Education Accreditation) and also commented that the conference, which will be held in GAU on 25-26 of October, will contribute significantly to the country’s promotion.

GAU is the only University to be granted with IACBE Accreditation in North Cyprus and Turkey.

Vehbi expressed that 2 year programs of Banking and Insurance, Marketing, Accounting and Tax Applications and Business 4 year programs of Business Management, International Business, Marketing, Banking and Finance, Accounting, Management Informatics Systems and Economy and post-graduate programs of MBA Business Management, MBA International Business, MBA Financial Management, MBA Marketing and MIS Management Informatics Systems are also accredited by IACBE. Vehbi also stated that GAU holds a world standard higher education vision and is the only university in North Cyprus and Turkey to be granted with IACBE Accreditation thus this will encourage a difference for the students during their careers.

Vehbi also emphasised that it is a significant reference that GAU Canterbury Campus (England) academic programs of Business, Accounting, Banking and Finance, International Business and Marketing have also been accredited by IACBE. Vehbi finally underlined the importance of GAU overseas campus accreditation for TRNC citizen students.
