3rd to 26th September.  Every Tuesday and Thursday eveningCinema equipment video camera  and film reel 9pm in the garden of the Goethe Institute (next to Ledra Palace in the UN buffer zone) there will be 8 different German films (with English sub-titles).  The films are from the 1930’s to present times.  Admission is free and there are cold drinks and snacks available. For more information contact the Goethe Institute on 22674606 
14th September – Saturday RBL The Royal British Legion, Kyrenia Branch, will be holding a Mediterranean Supper Party at the Deniz Kizi Hotel in Alsancak starting at 7pm.  There will be a superb buffet available.  Tickets are 50TL for RBL members and 55TL for non-members.  Order by telephone 0533 859 2451 and collect from Lambousa Market on Saturday 31st August or 7th September or alternatively order by telephone and pay on the night when you arrive. Entertainment will be by Pure and Simple (Lynn and Simon Barter) who will be singing songs to suit every taste.

16th September – MondayNCCCT logo NCCCT Bingo Night at The Ravine in Alsancak starting at 8pm.  There is still a rollover jackpot of 1,200TL.  A book of 6 cards @ 35TL. Free raffle and the famous Mars bars and now also Snickers for the winners.  Pre-order a nice supper of Fish & Chips for 15TL when you arrive to be served at half-time.  A good evening’s entertainment.

17th September – TuesdayChildren in need foundation A fund-raising event is being held to assist Deborah Maxwell, who recently broke her hip, with regard to hospital treatment.  Peter and Deborah have done a lot to support CiNF in the past and their friends would like to give something back. The event will be held at The Red Lion in Alsancak starting at around 5pm and Bobby Sands will be hosting the music, karaoke etc. Any monies raised over the target figure of 1850TL will be donated to the Children in Need Foundation.

4th October – FridayRBL The Royal British Legion, Kyrenia Branch, will be holding a Beetle Drive  at the Olive Press Bowling Club starting at 7.30pm. Entry fee is 5TL per person with all proceeds donated to the Poppy Appeal.  The Bowls Club full menu will be available beforehand for those wishing to have a meal. Teams of 4 should be booked with Brian Thomas on 0533 841 1882 or email brianjthomo@hotmail.com.  and Brian will be explaining how the team game is played prior to starting the Beetle Drive. 
4th October – Friday There will be a cello recital at Bellapais Abbey which is  part of the Bellapais Music Festival.
5th October – SaturdayTFR New The Foreign Residents in the TRNC (TFR) will be holding their Annual General Meeting at the Silver Rocks Restaurant in Lapta at 11.30am.  There will be a lunch following the meeting 25TL for members and 35TL for guests.  Reservations by 30th September – contact Horst Gutowski on 0533 845 0923.   In order to vote at the AGM members must have up to date membership which can be renewed at the Friday get-together at Sea Point in Lapta 4pm to 6pm. 
10th October – ThursdayChildren in need foundation The Children in Need Foundation will be holding their 2013 Ball at the Cratos Hotel, Catalkoy starting at 7.30pm, drinks available to 11.45pm.  Tickets are 100TL per person to include a set 3-course dinner and local drinks.  Kai Mckenzie will be entertaining with his Michael Buble Tribute act.  Dress code – black tie or lounge suit.   Tickets will be available from 16th September at The Property Centre in Alsancak and the DVD shop in Catalkoy.   Alternatively tickets and further information can be obtained from Laurence Floyd 0533 879 6892 or Mally Torris 0533 853 9499

25th October – FridaySOS Childrens Villages 2 Faure’s Requiem at Bellapais Abbey at 8pm with the Lefkoșa Municipality Orchestra and the Kyrenia Chamber Choir.  Programmes for admission can be obtained from Bridget Kerr by contacting 0533 848 6038.   The event is in aid of the SOS Children’s Village. 
26th October – SaturdayBritish Residents BRS Blood Donor Day.  10am to 1pm at Girne State Hospital. 3 months must elapse between donations. 
2nd November – SaturdayRoyal-British-Legion The Royal British Legion, Kyrenia Branch, Poppy Ball will be at the Vuni Palace Hotel, Karakum starting at 7pm.  3-course meal.  Tickets 110TL for members and 120TL non-members available from the RBL stall at Lambousa Saturday market, to reserve phone 0533 859 2451.  Dress code : Black tie/lounge suits.   There will be music by the Rock and Roll Rebels plus a late night disco and a raffle and auction will also take place during the evening.  A very popular event, so don’t delay in reserving tickets. 
2nd and 3rd November – Saturday and SundayDate Palm sml The Lefke Date Festival will be held on 2nd and 3rd November. More details to follow later.
