EROĞLU: ‘WE BELIEVE THAT IT IS TIME TO MAKE AN AGREEMENT IN CYPRUS’

In his message for the 1st September World Peace Day, President Dervis Eroğlu stated that it is time to find a solution to the Cyprus problem and the Turkish Cypriot side is ready to do whatever is necessary in order to reach a solution in the island.

IWorld Peacen his message, President Eroğlu expressed: ‘We as the Turkish Cypriot side consider that it is time to make an agreement in Cyprus and we conveyed our thoughts to our Greek neighbours and the United Nations too’.

Moreover, indicating his opinions regarding the negotiation process, President Eroğlu said  ‘We as the Turkish Cypriot side are ready to do whatever is necessary to meet at the negotiation table with Turkey, Greece, UK and the Greek Cypriot side, and to speed up the negotiation process and reach a solution by a mutual give and take process. It is not difficult to reach a solution but the realities in Cyprus should not be disregarded and a viable agreement should be aimed at’.

Stating that the meaning of the 1stSeptember World Peace Day should be comprehended well by everyone, Eroğlu continued as: “I hereby wish peace, welfare and happiness for all humanity and I repeat that the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus is ready to make all the necessary contributions on her part in this respect.

Mentioning that World War II was the most unfortunate and worrying incident for humanity like World War I, Eroğlu said that almost fifty million dead people, millions of injured, disabled people and ruined countries were left behind after World War II, which started with the occupation of Poland by Nazis, on the day of 1st September 1939.

President Eroğlu completed his message saying: “On this meaningful day, our desire and expectation is to stop the bloodshed in our region, end terrorist activities and take steps within the framework of democracy, human rights and modern values. The expression of the Great Leader Mustafa Kemal Atatürk: ‘Peace at home, peace in the world’ is an indispensable understanding for us”.

COUNCIL OF MINISTERS LIST PRESENTED TO ASSEMBLY

The Republican Turkish Party-United Forces (CTP-BG) and the Democrat Party-National Forces (DP-UG) cabinet for the new coalition government presented to the General Council of the Republic’s Assembly.

The Republican Turkish Party-United Forces leader, Özkan Yorgancıoğlu, will become the 10th Prime Minister of the TRNC and the cabinet of the 25th coalition government, formed by CTP-BG and DP-UG, is as follows:-

The Minister of Interior  Teberrüken Uluçay (CTP/BG)
The Minister of Foreign Affairs  Özdil Nami (CTP/BG)

The Minister of Food, Agriculture and Energy  Önder Sennaroğlu   (CTP/BG) 
The Minister of Labour and Social Security  Aziz Gürpınar   (CTP/BG)
