Royal British Legion – Kyrenia Branch
Mediterranean Supper Party
By Margaret Sheard
We have received news of a forthcoming event organised by the Kyrenia Branch of the Royal British Legion and this is to be a Mediterranean Supper Party to be held on Saturday 14th September at the Deniz Kizi Hotel in Alsancak, starting at 7.30pm.
Anne Lloyd, the RBL Chairman has said that the event promises to be a lively yet relaxing evening by the beach and added “The facilities at the Deniz Kizi are first class and I know everyone will have a lovely party, whilst at the same time raising money for a most worthy cause”.
The entrance fee is 50TL for RBL Members or 55TL for non-members, and this includes a sumptuous Buffet Supper. All profits will go towards assisting British Service and ex-Service Personnel or their dependents in their time of need; including members of the old Cyprus Regiments who are resident in North Cyprus.
Tickets can be ordered by telephone on 0533 859 2451 and will be available for collection from the RBL stall at Lambousa Market on Saturday 31st August and 7th September.
There will be musical entertainment provided and partygoers will have the chance to dance the night away, helped by the cooling breezes from the Mediterranean Sea.
This sounds like a nice event to attend, the temperatures should have gone down a few degrees so it should be a very pleasant evening, in lovely surroundings.
I HOPE EVERYONE HAS A WONDERFUL TIME AND I AM LOOKING FORWARD TO MY VISIT IN NOVEMBER FOR REMEMBRANCE DAY WHEN I WILL BE PLACING THE SUFFOLK REGIMENT WREATH ON THE MEMORIAL.
Thank you Derek, Margaret and I are looking forward to meeting you and learn more of your past experiences in Cyprus
