Message from Berke Ertopaloglu –Lapta Tourism Festival

Due to the sudden loss of our friend and our villager Tahsin Akıner all the festival activities this weekend have been postponed to the following dates:

Cake and Dessert competition. –  22nd of June

Beach Football   –  29th & 30th June

Motocross & Quad bike   –  23rd of June

Voice of Lapta  –   7th of July

Darts Tournament  –  5th & 6th of July

16th June – SundayMusic Note You can see Devon (aka Mr Rodeo) at Soyz Bar in Catalkoy from 6.30pm.  A good night of entertainment with country music and old favourites for dancing.  Some of the Phoenix Line Dancers will be there and will be sure to take to the floor and show how line dancing should be done.
17th June – MondayNCCCT logo NCCCT Bingo Night at The Ravine in Alsancak starting at 8pm.  There is a rollover jackpot of 1,200TL so who knows this may be your lucky night.   A book of 6 cards @ 35TL. Free raffle and the famous Mars bars for the winners.  Pre-order a nice supper of Fish & Chips for 15TL when you arrive to be served at half-time.  A good evening’s entertainment
17th June – MondayKar new sml There will be a quiz night at The Meadows Restaurant in Girne in aid of Kyrenia Animal Rescue (KAR) and Doğanköy Church.  Tickets are 25TL each which includes a 2-course meal or if you just want to attend the quiz it will be 10TL.   To reserve places contact Mick on 0533 877 4537 or Paula on 0533 830 3256.     For more information and to see poster click here
19th June – WednesdayMusic Note Another chance to see Devon (aka Mr Rodeo) at Rafters Restaurant in Ozankoy so why not have a nice meal and listen to some country music and some of your old favourites to dance to.  Some of the Phoenix Line Dancers will be there and will be up on the floor to show how line dancing should be done.  This will be a really good night’s entertainment.

21st June – FridayFriends of the TRNC Emergency Services Friends of the TRNC Emergency Services have arranged an 60’s Night at The Mountain View Hotel starting at 7.30pm. There will be a “Blues Brothers” act which will be coming up from the South and there will also be Steam Machine with Werner.  The event will be 65TL per person including a Buffet Supper and all local drinks between 7.30pm and 11pm.  To book for this event contact Brenda on 0533 840 7834 or Jenny on 0533 876 1483

23rd June – SundaySPOT LOGO sml Lapta Tourism Festival will be holding a Rafts Against Rubbish Race starting at 10am at K.A.S.K. 28th & 29th June  – Friday and SaturdayKADS colour logo KADS will be presenting an evening of comedy sketches etc. entitled Absolute Kads and Bounders at the Girne Municipality Culture Centre Theatre.  The performances start at 7.30pm and tickets which are 15TL can be obtained at the Wednesday Market or Chateau Lambousa Saturday Market.  The Saturday performance is virtually sold out but there are still seats available for Friday 28th.
30th June – SundayRBL1-202x300 The Royal British Legion, Kyrenia Branch are holding an Armed Forces Day Celebration event at The Courtyard in Karakum from 1pm to 6pm.  There will be stalls, games and entertainment.  English and Indian meals and snacks will be available throughout the day.  Entrance is by ticket @ 5TL which can be obtained from the RBL stall at the Lambousa Saturday market.
5th and 6th July – Friday and Saturday..(Note:  This was previously to have been held on 15th and 16th June)Dartboard Lapta Tourism Festival will be holding a Darts Tournament at the Manolya Hotel, Lapta starting at 7pm.  There is a 10TL entry fee and prizes will be awarded to the winners.  For more information see poster by clicking here.  To book or for more information contact Berke Ertopaloglu on 0533 834 9878
6th July – SaturdayChildren in need foundation The Children in Need Foundation have arranged a brilliant 2-hour concert to be held at the Girne Amphitheatre featuring Legend, Bob Marley & The Wailers Tribute Band.   This is a definite must for those who will be in the TRNC in July.  For more information click here.  Tickets are 50TL and are now on sale at Cafe George in Girne, Property Centre Lapta, and DVD shop in Catalkoy.
