ÖZGÜRGÜN HAS ATTENDED OPENING CEREMONY OF “IDEF-2013”
TRNC Foreign Affairs Minister, Hüseyin Özgürgün, has attended the opening ceremony of the 11th International Defense Industry Fair “IDEF-2013” organized at Tüyap Fair and Congress Center in Istanbul.
According to the information obtained from the 
Ministry, Ministers from 20 different countries including Özgürgün participated in the opening after the speeches were made.
Minister Özgürgün made an evaluation to BRT (Turkish Cypriot State Radio and TV) and emphasized that defense in a country should be very powerful for a safer peace in that country.
Using the expressions “if defense is not powerful, there will be no peace”, Özgürgün recorded that the importance of defense has increased when compared with the previous years.
Özgürgün added that the fair was very beneficial and he found the opportunity to meet with some Ministers at the fairground. He also added that development of Turkey especially in the field of defense was very important.
AKCA: “OUR PERSPECTIVE IS TO CREATE MORE PROSPEROUS, PEACEFUL AND STRONGER TRNC PEOPLE”
Turkish Republic Ambassador to Lefkosa, Halil Ibrahim Akca, stated that their perspective 
was to create “more prosperous, peaceful and stronger TRNC people” and stressed that they supported this not only in words but also with financial resources. He added that the financial resources were spent on the most urgent, beneficial and necessary works.
Akca expressed that they have increased the municipality contributions to 40 million TL which were 4-5 million TL until 2010 and the needs of villages and environment planning of central districts have been met with the support of these financial contributions.
TCCC WILL ORGANIZE EUROPE DAY
The Turkish Cypriot Chamber of Commerce (TCCC) is going to organize an event for Europe Day on 9th May. 
The event will start at 17.30 in the TCCC conference hall and National Unity Party MP Hasan Taçoy and Republican Turkish Party MP Özdil Nami will speak on the representation of the Turkish Cypriot People at the European Institutions.
Speakers from different sectors are also going to speak during the event which will end with the speech of the Head of the Chamber, Günay Çerkez.
