6th Lapta Tourism Festival –
Motorcycle Tour

Last Sunday I took my girlfriend Heidi and my scooter “Lulu” to participate in the motorcycle tour, which was organized as a part of the 6th Lapta Tourism Festival.
The first meeting point in the late morning was the Bikers Club in Girne. More and more bikers arrived with their machines. There was a lot of general chat and expert advice exchanged. Amongst the heavy motorcycles we felt a little out of place with the scooter, derogatory comments, however, were not to be heard …
After about 1 hour, a group of 15 motorcycles made their way in the direction of Lefkoşa, led by Jawa Ali, the guy on who I reported recently. Click here
The next destination was the Gönyeli roundabout at the end of the highway to the capital.
There were more riders joining our group, now other scooters and even quad bikes and a trike were there as well. About 50 machines with their riders made their way in a northwest direction to the next stopover in Camlibel. From there it went on to Karşiyaka and Lapta, the end of the tour.
After the motorcycle parade had turned a lap through Lapta all bikers met with their machines at the Sempati Hotel where a stage and tables were set up. The music band “Group Garage” and perfectly arranged catering ensured a good mood among the motorcycle riders …. a nice end of a successful tour.
