KAR – Two Names, two dog shows
As supporters of Kyrenia Animal Rescue – KAR, we are delighted to have the opportunity of telling our readers of the latest plans from KAR for events that are in store for you as detailed below.
Kyrenia Animal Rescue – KAR – will be having two bites at the cherry this year as its Annual Dog Show has been split into a KAR Fun Dog Show as part of the 6th Lapta Tourism Festival and two weeks later another Fun Dog Show which includes KAR’s Spring Fayre called ‘Paws in the Park’, made up of twelve classes at Kyrenia Municipality’s Bariș Park.
There will be no breed classes but there will be a class for any type of dog as well as special classes for street dogs and for any dog rehomed from the KAR Rescue Centre. Rosettes will be given in all classes for first to fifth winners as well as special prizes for the winners taking 1st, 2nd and 3rd places in each category. The ‘Mahoney Trophy’ will be presented to the winner of the Best KAR Rescue Dog class with all entries taken on the day at 5 TL per class. Owners can enter their dog in as many classes as they wish. The judge on the day will be Christine Watson. All twelve classes have been kindly sponsored by either members of the public or by local businesses whose names will be announced during the show.
The KAR ‘Spring Fayre’ will be held by using the Park’s stalls to sell bric-a-brac, cakes and produce, toys, pet products, and so on. There will also be face painting, other charity stalls, games and pony rides … in fact … a great day out for the whole family!
Entry to the showground for dogs will only be from the side road or from the car park at the rear as no dogs will be allowed in the main part of Bariș Park – so, do please look for the signs.
