NCCCT Coffee Morning at Jasmine Court

I am now managing to get to the monthly NCCCT coffee mornings on a Some cute items for saleregular basis and this month it was held at Jasmine Court, one of the venues I have not been to before, so it was nice to discover that the ballroom is made available and what a lovely large room it is where there were plenty of large tables to sit at and have our coffee and cakes and chat with friends.

There were the usual stalls around the Lots to choose fromouter area of the ballroom and I spotted Betty with her home-made goodies and some of the other regulars with ceramics, greetings cards, jewellery, handbags, clothes and bric-a-brac.

There were around 100 people who had come to support NCCCT so it was a good attendance and a nice atmosphere.  Angela Hasman (Chairman) and Pauline Collins (Vice Chair) were milling around talking to their supporters, Mike Alican was on the door greeting everyone and Carole Lloyd was doing Raffle prizesher usual raffle ticket sales.   There were some nice raffle prizes to be drawn towards the end of the morning and the proceeds from the event this month were  2,171TL, a good result.   When it was time for the raffle to be drawn, Angela thanked everyone for coming and was pleased to announce 2 donations which had been made to the charity.  Angela also thanked Jasmine Court who had provided the room and tea/coffee and cakes, all free of charge.

The first donation was from Soner Kioufi, the proprietor of EYYA (Web, Print, Publishing company) and Kibkom, an online Soner Kioufi (right) making a donation to NCCCTbusiness directory.  Soner donated 3,000TL to NCCCT, a lovely gesture.  I realised that Soner wrote the book “The Green Line – Holiday in a Warzone” which recalls the experience of a holiday his family took in Cyprus in 1974 when he was 8 years old, so it is the true story of a brutal war seen through the eyes of a child.  I have started to read it and I am sure it is going to be a very enjoyable and perhaps enlightening read.

The second donation was from Barbara Fursman from The Lodge in Barbara Fursman (right) making a donation to NCCCTҪatalköy who handed over 1,000TL which had been raised by Barbara and her husband Graham, from their quiz nights.  These are held every Wednesday at 8pm where there is a raffle and the winners choose from 3 envelopes with a chance of winning half of the money, a meal for 2, or a bottle of wine.   This is another enjoyable local event people can attend.

This was another very enjoyable coffee morning with NCCCT and with the raffle and the 2 generous donations made to this charity it was a very successful event.

The next coffee morning will be on 9th April  and will be held at The Malpas Hotel, Ҫatalköy.
