Phoenix Line Dancers at Tepebașı Tulip Festival

The 9th annual Tulip Festival will be held on 16th and 17th March this year at Tepebașı starting at 10.30am and we have been advised that the Phoenix Line Phoenix Line Dancers LogoDancers will be there to give a display of their line dancing and show how it should be done.  This will be their fourth performance at this Festival although Steve and Denise Bisson and some of the team members had previously performed at the Festival so they are now a regular feature of this event.

Tepebașı is a small village near Ҫamlibel and every year the village welcomes people from near and far to celebrate the Tulip Festival, which started as an annual event in 2005. There will be stalls selling local handicrafts and local produce as well as traditional Cypriot food.   There will also be some traditional folk dancing to entertain the visitors and as well as this there will be a display of line dancing by the Phoenix Line DaTulips roadside displayncers.  In previous years there have been choirs so there is a chance of some lovely singing as well.  There is a lovely roadside feature of large tulips in the Ҫamlibel area which is quite a surprise when you come upon it.

We are told that there are tulip fields near the Maronite Village of Koruçam and trips are arranged to visit them but I am sure it would be quite easy to find your way there for a day out and see the tulips which must soon be starting to make their colourful display in the fields.

To give readers a taste of the Phoenix Line Dancers we are including a video from the 6th Tulip Festival in 2010 when the line dancers entertained the crowds with their dancing.

This annual Festival, which is very popular, should be a nice event to attend in a lovely area of North Cyprus.
