NCCCT Coffee Morning at The Rocks

Time flies by and already it is the second coffee morning of the year NCCCT logofor the North Cyprus Cancer Charity Trust and this month it was held at The Rocks Hotel in Girne, in the ballroom which is a lovely venue for this type of event.

There was a large crowd of people attending this very popular event, probably around 140, and The Rocks had put on a superb assortment of cakes to have with coffee or tea, it was very difficult to choose from the lovely and varied selection.    Coffee and cake consumed, I then browsed around the many tables displaying their wares, cakes and pastries, clothes, ceramics, jewellery, paintings, hGuests at the coffee morningandbags and many more items to tempt people to delve into their pockets and purses.

Mike Alican was busy at the door and Carole Lloyd looking after the raffle tickets.   I met Mary and Emily who I have not seen for some while who were taking the tickets for the coffee/tea and cakes so it was nice to see them again and haveRaffle prizes a chat.   I also spotted Gűrcan and Yildiz Ahmet with an array of paintings and ceramics produced by Yildiz (Liz).

There were some nice raffle prizes on display waiting for the draw of the tickets.

Everyone was welcomed to the coffee morning by Angela Hasman and she brought them up to date with NCCCT news.  The next coffee morning will be at Jasmine Court on 12th March.  They are also looking for volunteers to help in the Heartbeat shop so if anyone has a few hours a week to spare they would be Gűrcan and Yildiz Ahmetmore than welcome to lend a hand.

Angela also reported that Peter Graham had sadly lost his battle against cancer and his wife, Cath, had made a donation of 1335TL raised from a get-together of friends in North Cyprus and the donation was made to NCCCT  in memory of Peter.

Last, but not least, thanks were given to The Rocks Hotel for the wonderful selection and service they provided for the people attending the coffee morning.

Angela later confirmed that the total raised at this event was  2,829 TL a marvellous amount for the charity.
